What is Honda LaneWatch™?

Honda Lanewatch camera
Many new Honda vehicles offer Honda LaneWatch™, which prompts many who haven’t purchased a car recently to wonder, “What is Honda LaneWatch™?” In short, Honda LaneWatch™ has your back — technically, your side — when you venture outside of Redmond on epic road trips. It helps drivers stay informed about what’s happening on the passenger side of their car, truck, or SUV. How does Honda LaneWatch™ work precisely? Read on to find out more about this advanced driver-assist technology.

How Does Honda LaneWatch™ Work?

How does the LaneWatch™ system work? Not unlike blind-spot monitoring, a camera installed below the right passenger-side mirror sends images to the central display screen. This allows drivers to get a clear view of the side of their car, making it easier to change lanes. It’s important to note that Honda LaneWatch™ is not a replacement for your passenger-side mirror. It’s an enhancement — not a substitute.

How to Use Honda LaneWatch™

Honda LaneWatch™ activates the moment you switch on your right turn signal. The camera turns on and the video feed appears on your display screen, providing an image of your blind spot. If you’d prefer, you can activate the Honda LaneWatch™ monitoring system by pressing the button at the end of your turn signal control to avoid turning your signal light on. Pressing the button again turns it off. To change the LaneWatch™ settings, follow these steps:

  • Select Settings on the HOME screen.
  • Choose Camera.
  • Choose LaneWatch™.
  • Make your preferred changes.
  • Press BACK to exit.
