Some newer vehicle models have electronic oil monitors that don’t use traditional oil dipsticks, so first check your owner’s manual for the auto manufacturer’s recommendations. These are the steps for how to check the oil in your car:
Dipsticks always have some way of indicating the proper oil level, usually with a mark. If the top of your oil streak is between two marks or within a crosshatched area, the level is okay. If it isn’t, you’ll need to add some more oil. Check your owner’s manual to see what type of oil you need, or call the service center at Honda of Kirkland.
You should check your car’s oil level about once a month to prevent any problems when out on Redmond roads. Also, be aware of things like changes in your oil’s color and texture as they can be signs of serious problems.
